Fleet Leasing Companies are Taking Charge in the EV Sector

Fleet leasing companies are leading the way towards a sustainable future with electric vehicle solutions for Canadian businesses.

We spend a lot of time thinking about how our individual choices impact our communities, and many of us have made the switch to reusable water bottles, paper straws, cloth grocery bags, and the like. But larger businesses also shoulder a lot of responsibility when it comes to environmental stewardship, and face many decisions about how they can make their own positive impacts.

This article will look into one of the ways business owners are working towards a more sustainable future and the companies that are supporting them on this journey.

So what's the topic, you ask? We're talking about electric vehicle technology!

The future of automotive is looking very green, and Canadian fleet leasing companies are leading the charge (pun intended) in making it possible for businesses to build entire fleets of electric vehicles. Not only are they helping business owners acquire and lease a wide range of EVs, but they’re also supporting their efforts with the necessary infrastructure to maintain electrified fleets.

Fleet Leasing Companies Go Green

Last week, one of our Flex team members attended a Somerville Group Open House event (comprised of Somerville Auto, Somerville Hino, and Zeemac Commercial Fleet Leasing), where they had electric cars, trucks, and charging solutions on-site for clients, staff, and guests to explore. Oh, and let’s not forget the complimentary taco truck. The fish tacos were off the hook (again - pun intended).

The Somerville Group has spent the past few years building an impressive electric vehicle leasing program, which includes a long list of helpful resources for business owners:

These fleet leasing companies work with hundreds of small and medium business owners each year, and their commitment to making EV adoption accessible is pretty darn exciting.

We also caught up with ChargePoint, one of North America’s leading providers of EV charging infrastructure and an official Zeemac partner. Their charging stations take up less of a footprint than a parking metre, and from the design phase to installation to ongoing support, ChargePoint takes care of everything businesses need to feel confident in their charging solutions.

As companies like Zeemac, Somerville, and ChargePoint break down EV-adoption barriers, it makes it easier than ever for businesses to make the switch to green technology, helping get more EVs on North American roads.

Why are Businesses Choosing EV Fleets?

Fleet leasing companies make it their priority to keep business owners in the driver’s seat when it comes to their commercial fleets. They specialize in finding flexible options and innovations that will support these businesses as they face new challenges within their various industries, and education surrounding the benefits of electrified commercial fleets is just one of those solutions.

Besides the environmental benefits of electrified automotive technology, EV fleets can make a huge impact on a business's bottom line. From government rebates to saving money on fuel and maintenance to the improved efficiency of EVs, there is a lot to be gained from trading traditional gas-powered fleet vehicles for electric ones.

But EV technology is still relatively new, and there are many questions, concerns, and barriers to adoption. That’s where fleet leasing companies come in. They act as a buffer to not only help decision makers understand the benefits of EV fleets, but also pair them with the vehicles, leasing options, fleet management tools, charging solutions, and ongoing support they need to make a confident decision.

The Future of Automotive is Bright

Flex works with countless dealer partners each month, and it’s always exciting to be there as they evolve and grow. Connecting with the Somerville team about their current (and many upcoming!) initiatives was truly inspiring, and we can’t wait to continue our partnership in the world of automotive.

For more information about their electric vehicle fleet leasing services, you can visit Zeemac Fleet Leasing (Vancouver-based) or Somerville Automotive (Toronto-based) to chat with one of their friendly representatives.

And of course, if you would like to talk about how FlexDealer can support your evolving automotive business, don’t ever hesitate to reach out to one of our equally friendly team members - we would love to hear from you!
